Is this one so hard to answer?? Jeez, just get yer books out, read the chapter "The council of Elrond" in the Fellowship and you should have the first 2 questions. As for the other 2, I already gave my hint for those with the question.

I think if they're going to answer they should try and answer my question first...or you could Turgon as we seem to be the only two playing...

As for the other 2, I already gave my hint for those with the question. In the council of Elrond, Elrond mentioned to someone if all the elf-friends of all were gathered there, that someone would be seated amongst them. 1) Who is this someone? 2) Who were these elf-friends (looking for 4, the greatest) 3) Who of the elf-friends is not mentioned here? 4) Why is he not mentioned?
1) Frodo 2) Hador, Hurin, Turin, Beren As for 3 and 4, not really sure what you are getting at? Guess I don't know you as well as I thought

Stab in the dark:
3) Tuor?
4) Other than the fact that she married your (Turgon's) daughter Idril... dunno?

It's because Tuor was counted among the Eldar.
There, thanks to teamwork, we're caught up :} Since Arathorn had answered Elrond's and most of Turgon's (with an tack-on from me :} ) I'd say it's his turn to ask the next question :}
Well, we should wait for the "You're correct" messages first I suppose :}

er.. so, to clarify, in answer to #4, he's not mentioned because he's an Eldar? Do you mean he's considered an elf, not an elf-friend then?

Now that wasn't hard at all, was it? The thing about me, Arathorn, is that true to my namesake, I am kind of obsessed with Gondolin. Truly is "my" city . As for the 3rd and 4th questions: It is Tuor and he was accounted among the Eldar. It was not like Earendil or Elrond who had chosen to be counted among the Elves, when the choice was given to them, but they remained half-elven. As for being accounted among the Eldar, I am not really sure why, but my guess is that it has several reasons. One among them is the marriage of Idril, another is being the father of Earendil. Although these 2 are more likely to give him the status of Elf-friend rather than Eldar, it was his occupation and valor that brought him that honor. He was chosen by Ulmo to be his messenger and he fought valiantly among the Gondolindrim when Gondolin was beset. I think it is most likely that all of these reasons have some factor in him being accounted among the Eldar. Now for the part of your question I had not answered yet. (I always like to answer questions that are not asked, yet might be implicated by another question. Guess I am obsessed with giving info where it is not asked. Probably a feat all of us here have one way or another ) Tuor was a mariner just like his son Earendil. Tuor sought long and hard to find Valinor through the shadowy Isles at the edge of the world and eventually became lost at sea. No one knows what really happened to him and by the rumours that the Shadowy Isles are enchanted with some eternal spell or something it is not sure whether Tuor still lives or died and went beyond the confines of the world. In either way, the Elves believe he is Eldar, and the title "Elf-friend" is not entirely appropriate for an Elf

I have to say I'm surprised it took so long to answer those questions but Arathorn got both right so it's his turn to maybe ask a superduper long one for his hard efforts, and as to not totally forget Eonwe, nice job on the last question way to use Valar teamwork

No it's my turn (I guess) but I'm running out of questions.. hmm..
How about... what 3 other mariners sailed with Earendil to the immortal shores?
