Sure, I'm interested, for the European group of course. But somebody's going to have to mail me a flower, or bring an extra one... don't have any flight-points handy for a quick transport to Stormwind, closest I have is menethil harbor... and I won't be visiting the Eastern Kingdoms any time soon. Also, I still haven't found the Shrine myself, as I said in the meeting... I've been up quite a few Barrens-mountains, but no Shrine. But if people can provide information, and either a portal to Stormwind or an extra flower, I'm surely in

Not only obscure, but apparently bugged as well:
If you travel along the southern side of Azshara, you'll find several paths down to the beach/sea. Along one of these paths you can find a small crew who fled their ship because the Naga were upon them. Their captain gives you a quest to defend them from several waves of Naga, and after about 6 or so waves the quest is complete. Some experience, no reputation, no reward, no follow-up quest (even though the captain hints you that crewmembers may have further errands, which they don't), except it being repeatable for some reason.

Try pressing numlock for autorun, you'll keep on running even when not having the forward-button pressed. It's pretty useful for chatting.
Welcome to the dark side!

Indeed, we do the same thing with our European guild, the High Guard. There are plenty of us to handle the 5-man instances at high levels, but for the instance-raids (class-raids, MC, Zul'Gurub) we have established an Alliance with other honorable guilds, and this is working out quite well. We have a common channel, an alliance-section on our forum (where we organise the raids), and good friendship between the members. It almost seems like we're actually one guild at times.
You might like to try it, if the Valarguild isn't big enough for the end-game content on its own.

Having made the silly mistake of pre-ordering in the final week before release, my copy hasn't arrived yet in the stores, and if I buy a normal one I'll have lost double the money. So I'll just have to wait a few weeks, at most... no big deal.
Once I have it though, I'll be making my main on Argent Dawn as well, probably playing beside Menel. And perhaps another on some PvP-server, not sure yet. I'll see how it goes, and what I have time for.

Err.. am I wrong in thinking that the 'go/see here' parts are supposed to become links in the final version? You know, links to the actual sections describing Maia-honor for example?
Or is that not what you mean?

Aye, that is a good site. I've been following the general website for many months now, and saw the Cartography-section develop from nothing. It's not finished yet, but steadily growing, and I have no doubt it will provide full coverage by the end. Very useful indeed, and I plan to use it a lot when I get WoW.

Don't know if you've seen this, but there is now a more advanced tabard-viewer/designer available. It's pretty useful. The icon we have chosen is located at the beginning of the second page. www.worldofwar.net/tabard/Have fun!

With all the Europeans added, we should get above 10 players, although it will be quite a hassle getting online at the same time. Around the meetings should be a good way to solve that. Unfortunately, if the waiting is for the Europeans, it won't be until February, and probably later for the US-Europe-connection to be established, before we can create the initial guild.

Actually, I believe you can chat with members of the opposing faction, but you have to learn the language. There are ways to do that, and it seems pretty useful to me.
I'm not sure what server I'll get my guild-characters... I'll leave you guys to decide, it's not like I'll be able to play until next year anyway.

Sounds cool! I'll join you as soon as I know how to program... shouldn't be that hard, should it?

Well, I don't know if this belongs with MEO, or with WoW, so I'll post this at both places. I have just found great news.... Night Elf rogues can master throwing daggers... this means I can literally transfer Calion from the RPG to WoW, where I was planning a Night Elf Rogue called Calion for a long time already.

Calaron:
Some time before the morning dawned, most Orcs had moved away from the battlefield and dispersed in the woods. The flets were burned, and so were the corpses of the slain, both Elf and Orc. The smoke rose high, a reminder of the tragedy that had taken place.
In a clearing there lay an Elven commander, with a strange ring on his hand, clearly one of power but far below the Great 20. He had not worn the ring during battle, or put it on before he fell, but putting it on his finger from a small pocket during his sleep was the only physical action the Orcs had observed. For a small group of the creatures had surrounded the Elf and now gazed upon him suspiciously, for some reason resisting the urge to put a blade to the flesh and end his suffering. For while he looked fast asleep, Calaron's head was in turmoil.
He lay in terrible nightmares, as the dark spirit in his head sought to meld with and control his own fëa. He had conversed with the spirit, asking it many questions, but losing secrets and resistance of his own. It was strong-willed, and trained in the sorcery (or so some would call it) of Sauron as one of his old servants, trained to subdue minds under its own domination, take over their bodies, and thus extend its own life.
It told Calaron that it had planned to take over a noble Elf for quite some time, to bring chaos to the woodland realm, and sow discord between the Elves and their allies. And now its time had come, for it had planted the ring before him when Calaron was busy in the Northlands, though he had no memory of picking it up. But there the small thing had been, buried deep in his pocket, creating a link for the old sorcerer to complete the plan.
With some strength left Calaron defied the spirit, claiming his body as his own and seeking to leave the ring behind, but it had already gained too much control and instead forced it on his finger, thereby sealing the conquest. But it probed Calaron's fëa deeply, seeking some way to break his will completely. The stronger he resisted, the deeper it reached, ultimately finding a weak point. "A girl" it said. "It's always a girl."
Calaron opened his eyes, but it was not Calaron. The spirit, the sorcerer, was in control now, and its mind was set to its next goal. Asserting its control to the nearby Orcs, the group set off to the East, where Calaron mounted a large wolf and started his journey to the woodland realm.
---
Over one and a half day had passed when the young Elf reached the halls of Thranduil. He had knowledge of much of the outer defenses, dismounting well before the first ones were due, and tried avoiding patrols. The net of scouts was hard to penetrate unseen, though, and whenever he met a patrol he mumbled something about a message to the King, before making his way further. Just after his brother's party had arrived, he stumbled upon the stables, espying Elmirë from a few bushes, aiming his bow with deadly accuracy. Killing the girl, the secret and unrealized love, would surely break the fëa's will forever, for it was a deed and tragedy few Elves and humans would ever recover from.
But the Calaron inside was not about to let that happen, and with a great effort he fought to wrest control of his own body and prevent the event. The bow wavered, the arrow shook, and he cried out in agony. Elmirë turned around, saw his face through the bushes, and the arrow released. She fell to the ground with her own cry, struck though not with such accuracy as the sorcerer had hoped. Quickly he made his way out of the area before any guards showed up, and hurried back to the place where he had left his wolf and escort. The action had had its desired effect, Calaron was defeated, and full control was now his. He had to hurry for the next phase of the plan, and rode West swiftly.
---
The cries were heard even in the Halls themselves, and Calion jumped up. He had recognized both voices.

Calion:
Knowing that continuing any argument with Auros would do him no good, Calion let his comments pass as he accompanied him to the group and all departed to the west, back to Mirkwood. Looking back at the pony, he wondered how long the small creature would be able to keep up at this speed.
He knew Auros worried about whether Quessëlómë would be able to maintain full gallop after the trip to Dale, but Calion didn't. The horse was well-trained and used to long and fast journeys through all of Mirkwood, and she did not exhaust quickly, especially on the plains, where there were no trees, roots, or fallen branches in the way. The sun they were not used to for the shadows in Mirkwood were everywhere, but for now they still rode in Erebor's shadow, and even outside that shadow the sun did not shine too brightly in this time of year.
Auros had ordered weapons ready, and keeping to the reins with one hand he fumbled rather idly with one of his daggers in the other, while thinking of what happened in the early morning. Thefts and other bad incidents in otherwise peaceful towns disappointed Calion, who was raised in a society with little crime, and he wondered what it was all for, because evil would always show up in the little places no matter how much you tried to stop it on a global scene.
After leaving the shadow of Erebor they halted and turned around, and Calion realised what it was indeed all for. Glorious kingdoms and societies, peaceful towns and their citizens, proud defenders fighting for their preservation, independence, freedom. Freedom to shake up little peaceful towns with petty thefts and get away with it, he added in thought, and smiled.
