We now have 11 Valar Guild members playing WoW, and many more characters besides. When are we going to get a Valar Guild in game?
We need to find a time when we can all be online around the same time, as you can't log out with an unfinished guild charter.
Once we have a time set up, Eonwe needs to buy a guild charter (10 silver) and get it signed by nine members. Then that has to be returned to the Guildmaster. Then we have a guild and all of our characters can be added at any time.
I think the hardest part will be getting everyone there at the same time as Eonwe.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry, what was that again? I missed that last part.. I was busy online playing WoW for the past 96 hours straight... <ha! > ok..ok... Well, Eonwe, Grimbold, Varda and I have talked about creation of a Guild within Wow, Tabards and the like through emails and in WoW at different times.. I figure the best time would be right after the meeting tomorrow (Sunday, of course) depending on who can attend. I wasn't sure about one thing you said "as you can't log out with an unfinished guild charter". Do you mean that someone can actually create/buy/finagle a charter but is stuck until all 10 members sign it (i.e. he'll lose the charter if he logs out before then)? Seems drastic... but I guess that's Blizzard *sigh* . Just trying to understand the specifics of charters...

According to Blizzard: If a player logs out of the game, the game client crashes, or the server is brought down, guild charters may disappear. If this has occurred a new charter will be required. This is a bug that will be fixed in the future thankfully, but it still means we need all 10 sigs while the person with the charter is online. That shouldn't be a problem though, as seperate characters count as different people. In other words, each of our characters (for example, Kanafinwe and Macalaure) have to join the guild seperately, so each can sign the charter seperately. Maglor

From my understanding, all of the members had to remain logged in until the required 10 was achieved. Since we only have 7 actual accounts at the moment (I believe some are sharing) that would put us under the 10 needed, which is why I haven't made a big push to get the guild set up (you know, the old "get over here now!" :}). No signers able to log out seems logical since, if this limitation were not in place, 2-3 people could create a guild all by themselves (1 leader plus the other 2 guys totaling 9 characters).
If that's not the case, all the better I suppose. It's always simple enough to test.
I also think it'd be good for each of the 10 members to throw in a silver for the charter, sort of a symbolic thing.
After a meeting is a good time. After tomorrow's meeting might be pushing it since this is such short notice.
I'm drafting a charter to be put on our WoW page, similar to what we did for DAoC. My thought is that when put on the page, the charter could have, in a fancy font, (similar to a signature) the names of the signers of the in-game charter. What do you all think of this?
For the WC3 group, what proved to be hardest was getting that 10th person in there :}
Take care. Eonwë

With all the Europeans added, we should get above 10 players, although it will be quite a hassle getting online at the same time. Around the meetings should be a good way to solve that. Unfortunately, if the waiting is for the Europeans, it won't be until February, and probably later for the US-Europe-connection to be established, before we can create the initial guild.

Eonwë The signers of the charter can log out, but the person that holds the guild charter might loose it if they sign out. Also, Blizzard states that signing a charter has nothing to do with the account, only the character, so the fact that some people are sharing an account isn't a problem. They can switch to a different character and sign it. I don't mind throwing in a silver for the charter, and I like your idea of the charter on the page with the signatures. Now that we are talking about getting the guild set up I should probably start playing my Lothar characters . I've been playing my, now level 28, Dwarf Hunter on Durotan consantly and it is hard to go back to a level 9 or 14 character . Maglor

Not that I think you should wait if it is possible to create the branch now but regarding the Euro I have read a solution for the Euro`s to get on US-servers and they say it works. So I have ordered a US copy by now and hope I will have it within a week and then I am going to test it.
