OK Guys, here it is, Round 2 of Tolkien Trivia! This is going to be slightly different. Instead of a conglomeration of lore, we're going to divide the lore section into different threads. This one will be for LotR and the Hobbit. There will be one for Sil, and also one for UT/HoME.
Rules will remain as follows: One person asks the question. First to answer right gets to ask the next question.
First attempt to answer the question with your own knowledge. If, after a certain amount of time, no one has answered the question, the asker may either give clues or grant permission to look the answer up. Hopefully we don't have to resort to the latter, but what happens happens :}
So, let's get started!
How did Merry and Pippin escape Saruman's Orcs? Give a brief description of events and the names of parties directly involved (i.e. names of orc(s))

OK, Pip and Merry are captured by the Uruk-hai and some other orcs who high-tail with them towards Isengard. Ugluk is the boss of these orcs being the leader of the Uruks and loyal to Saruman. Grishnak is a Mordor orc and is loyal to Barad-dur. The two factions get into a few skirmishes but the Uruks deliver beat downs and keep the rest in line. Pippin manages to run away for a little while and drop his broach to let anyone who may be tracking know he was ok. Grishnak wanted to take the hobbits to a Nazgul to get the to MOrdor for Sauron, all the orcs thought that the hobbits were special, maybe knowing(thinking) a very special trinket was with them. Grishnak grabs them when the riders of Rohan attack and Pippin figures out what Grishnak is thinking, so he starts acting crazy and saying precious so that Grishnak will continue to go along with them, the riders kill grishnak too and miss merry and pippin in the fray because of their camo-cloaks. One had free hands from earlier when an orc with a knife died close enough to use it to get free, they free themselves and run into Fangorn forest. Sorry about my spelling and overall bad grammar and meandering, but the gist is all there. QUESTION 2 What was the name of the Ent who dies consumed in the liquid flame spurt by Saruman from Orthanc? (modified it and deleted other post, coz of what Eonwe said , Turgon)

Great enthusiasm, Elros, but please wait until the asker tells you you're right before posting your question :}
You are correct :} I was just looking for the events immediately related to the escape, so you got it :}
Also, if you need to make spelling corrections, click on the modify button in your post. Saves on making an entirely new post just to correct a word :}

That would be Beechbone If I am right... my question: The 'Tale of Tinuviel' that Aragorn sings to the Hobbits was composed in which form of Elven song?

As it obviously has taken too long for anyone to find the answer, or Gwaihir to give the answer and ask a new question, I am opening up the thread again.
From this point, anyone can ask a new question.
*Do note, that once a question has been asked, normal rules are in effect, meaning you will have to answer correctly and await confirmation of the one that posed the question before asking your own.

Name two people that fought Balrogs and lost.

Feanor and Ecthelion Ecthelion did not lose technically, because he did defeat Gothmog, but since he lost his own life in the process, the same technicality could say that he lost

Feanor and Fingon. Fingon in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. I'm fairly sure I'm right, so I'll just start thinking of my next question. Won't post it until the confirmation, though Btw, this is supposed to be the Lotr and Hobbit-trivia-thread, isn't it? Therefore my question will be within these areas.

Correct, Pharazon, it was Fëanor and Fingon :}
Both of them lost because they fought multiple balrogs at once :}
You are also correct in mentioning this is supposed to be for LotR and the Hobbit. I had forgotten this when I posted the question, and when I realized it I decided to leave it as is. So, just take it as a kick-off question and from here on out we go back to Hobbit and LotR.
Your turn Phar :}

Ok... let's see now.... this might be an easy one, but here we go. Right before Bilbo was lost in the Misty Mountains, and picked up the ring, met Gollum, etc... he was carried by one of his Dwarven companions. This Dwarf was grabbed from the back, Bilbo rolled off, hit his head, and was lost in the chaos of the battle with the Goblins. What was the name of the Dwarf? Remember, no peeking for now
