Nope, not it. Care to try again? Only a limited number of Dwarves to choose from, you're bound to get it right sooner or later ;D

I seem to remember it was one of the younger dwarves, so I go for Fili or Kili

Ah, getting closer. Bombur did indeed carry Bilbo on his back in the goblin-tunnels, but not at the crucial moment I mentioned. At that point, another Dwarf was already carrying him. This same dwarf got reprimanded (sp?) for dropping Bilbo by Gandalf the next time Bilbo saw them, east of the Misty Mountains. 5 dwarves down! Who's next? After 8 wrong dwarves have been given, I shall grant permission to check the book.

Hehe, I was going to guess Bombur as well, even if he is a rather Hobbitish-shaped Dwarf, if you know what I mean :}
Since my second answer was already taken, I'll try my third: Bofur :}
And I've got one more guess after that, but I'll keep these to single-guess posts (don't want everyone "shotgunning" the answers hoping something hits :})

No, not it. What do you mean with 'only one left'? There were 13 dwarves, only 7 answers have been given. 1 more mistake and you can check the book

Well, since the board shaven't been taken down for the upgrade yet, I'll go ahead and respond here.
I was going to say Bifur as well, then I got to thinking,...
I'll say Nori.
If we all have to look at the book, maybe we should put down LotR for a second and reread the Hobbit :}

Not Nori, and not Gloin. 9 missers so far, so you can check the book from now on if you want. Or you can try without, not much choice left
