Heyas ArPharazon, Thanks for your quick input, it has given me some nice directions and idears to search for not alone appearance of their sails but their ships too. I reread ofcause parts of UT, mainly Aldarion and Erendis and the notes for it as I thought that would be the obvious place to start. In the story of Veantur nothing is said of black sails. But today I found a little bit but it certainly places black sails, as you mention, in a future long past Veantur. In The Lost Road (HoME 5) first version of Fall of Numenor §6 the armament assailing Valinor is described "..masts like a forest of mountain-trees, and their banners like the streamers of a thunderstorm, and their sails were black..." You quoted it too but in the final version where the black sails have vanished and it gave me the idear of looking in the older versions This could well be the spot I remember. And later in the final version (same book §3) telling about Numenors earlier history how they became great mariners and reached the shores of ME they "..appeared among the wild men and filled them with wonder and dismay and some esteemed them to be Gods or son of the Gods out of the West and the men of ME feared them, for they were under the shadow of Morgoth and believed the Gods to be terrible and cruel.." This one is possible another part of what I recollect but mix together into one but the search goes on and further bits and parts are most welcome

Heyas,
In research of my coming mosaic picture of Veantur sailing Entulasse and reaching ME I think I remember reading, somewhere, something in likeness of "people looking out upon sea saw the black sails of the Numenorians.. etc etc and they were scared not knowing..etc etc" The question are the black sails. Did they have black sails, is it my imagination or have I read it somewhere obscure?. I can not remember where I read this. It is not in the story of Veantur or the notes concerned this. Might be a note to a note hidden somewhere in HoME telling of something quite different and just as reference to something else.
Any help is appriciated. I am pretty sure I have read it. But where?

Heyas As people of interest in Tolkien you may like to see my latest Tolkien inspired art. It is Mosaics and of Tolkien there is two pieces atm. One is called Ulmo at Vinyarmar. You all know the place in the legends where Ulmo shows himself at the shores of Vinyamar and mount Taras, the long beaches where the white swans roam etc etc. That was my second try in making a mosaic. its 121 x 85 cm Link: www.annalsofarda.dk/Billed/ulmoatvinyamar.htmlThe second Tolkien piece (and third try) is called Smaug and the Lonely Mountain. The landscape is copied from one of John Hove because he hittet the "feel" of it right on in my opinion but off cause the transformation into mosaic have changed it a great deal. The dragon is one I have used before in drawings but now turned into mosaic and inserted in the landscape. The original idear of this mosaic was to build it into the floor of my terrace but now its done I am not sure its possible and it might just go for the wall. Size is 122 x 105. and link is : www.annalsofarda.dk/Billed/smaugandthelonelymountain.htmlThe last piece is non-tolkien and the first try I had on mosaics but here it comes. its called Breaking of the spring size 70 x 120 Link: www.annalsofarda.dk/Billed/breakingofspring.htmlI hope you will enjoy them.

hmm I assume you are all 65 ? It really should not be a big issue. It is not rocketsience. Sorry no offence meant here but the instance is a farming instance for hardmode and you will see when you have done it once. If you like take someone along who have done it before and listen and do what he tells you to do. You might even get a second tactic Yes it is a bit messy but main tank Grd,Wrd or Cmp should be able to grab most, a hunter can take quit a bit of bashing and rk can dish out lots of dps OR heals as needed. A RK can heal through the instance if no Minstrel available. The minstrel has this starting point in the middle but will occasionally and from time to time need to move around and does have his own ways of getting out of trouble/bying time for others to take over. It is not meant harsh but I do expect you are all well into your chars and their possibilities and I assume you are used to play together. Yes the tank OR whatever other char available at the moment WILL need to pull the guards into the window area but that is 1 arrow ( if hunter) into the guardwave and the other two guards will follow as the hunter is on top of hatelist IF the minstrel does not fire of a heal in the exact same moment. As soon the guard-wave is within reach of the window ANY aoe will keep them in the box. A well playing Mns with a decent grp shouldnt run into big problems in OE but if it happens keeping agro of minstrel or peel it off is a dps` task. Hnt, Rk or Cmp. Ranged is in my wiev best here as both can stay where battlepositions are placed. Should you not have killed all the spirits when next wave comes - Tank go grab them, move to light and pop them while a 1 or two remains to fight the last spirits at the other window. If you cant seperate the ghosts from the guards then just let the ghost follow agroholder back to L window. Any ranged char can stay at R (bluish) windown and dps on ghosts and pull them back. Thats exactly why the minstrel should stay more or less in the middle because he/she can then reach and heal to both sides if needed. The only char I can think of you really should have along is a cpt. When you fight the princessess you do not need to pull the spirits into light, just keep all the three pricessess together and agro on tank and rest of grp make sure to kill spirits as fast as possible. Yes you will probably die learning this one. The above is a generel walk through played and done several times with different group-setups in my kin but finetune your own tactics, bring your pots and tokens and have some fun while dying and learning. You can do it

First room : kill guards in light of the window Second room : let no one escape to activate the spirits. Daze stun or root as needed. Move forward to the gorothul, clear the left room at end of top left archway. activate activate Gorothul. One person in medium or heavy Ward, grd, cpt. is assigned to take the aggro from the guard called in by the gorothul and drag the guard into the cleared room and the window where the guard will pop into spirits. The the assigned drag the spirits back to main grp at Gorothul where theres help to bring the spirits down. Keep on thast way until the Gorothul is dead. Then move forward to final boss room.
Healer stands in middle just inside the room below the stairs and can reach all from there. Rest of grp at window Left when coming into room. When encounter starts pop the guard-wave into spirits at L. window. then drag them to R window (bluish light) and kill there. Move back to L window for second wave etc etc until all guards are down. Now the princessess. Activate, heaviest armor tanks, rest of grp kill spawned spirits and help when time on princessess. bring each of the three down to 15K. The Boss comes. Tank kites the three princessess around in the room while the others engage boss at L. window. Cpt looks after kiting tank and remove fear dots as fast as it comes on tank or he will die within 30 sec. Rest of grp slam on boss until hes down, then kill the princessess.
Its easy when you have done it once. Done with last with Warden, Lm, Hunter, Cpt, brg, rk. so can be done with most setups as we in Circle of Trust find fun in doing things with wierd grps and as a rule never ask for specifig chars but take those who want on any char they like coming with.
Cheers and good luck

Merry Christmas all. I hope you are all well, have had your fair share or joy and merryment and presents ;D Wife and I just returned from a short Christmas hollyday in misty London so it was great to get back home in the white and cold Denmark. Winter really is my favorite. This year winter began early, aalready in nowember we had the first snowstorm and degrees below zero 24/7 which is unusual, normally its not before late december. But I dont mind then all through december we have had snow and frost and several snowstorms. My running in barefoot (not totally barefoot but using fivefingers) has been cold but great. Felt at least 1000 miles further north stiding through the white dunes. Perhaps we will be able to walk across the sea to Sweden again which has not been possible the last 50 years. Enough of it Merry Christmas to all of you and best wishes for the year to come.

There and Back Again. Filming starts in July. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8573948.stmInteresting, specially the last part about a second movie set in the years between Bilbo finding the One Ring and the Ringwar. Fantasy may have a relatively free flip there

Nice to hear the sound of the old tongue Yea warhammer was kind of frustrating and I guess the timing was a bit off too, I never got to really know my witch and playing both Lotro and warhammer was too much. Only bought it because of the great time I had for years in DaoC. It still stands out as game nr.1 in my list but LotRO is the living in a world I only knew from tales and stories and thus very interesting in a different way. I remeber when I saw the North Downs the first time ingame. The landscape was so much what I expected that I felt I knew it before I walked it. A rather strange experience realizing it came out of Tolkiens capability to set your imagination in motion with precise words and some gameprogrammers idears and my inner fantasy. I have no idear what AION is. I am afraid I have not heard of it. But for LotRO one might hope that when the game becomes old and new ones arrive on the scene they fold the servers together and the last days can be played together. Far off and far fetched but still a hope ;D
