Dear Valar Guild I am still alive. First of all I want to wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year The last 3 years have been incredible busy for me. My wife and I bought an old little house and moved, and at same time I was offered a new job in a new prison, and was elected as spokesman for my collegues. A task I knew would take a lot of my time but I had never expected how much work I piled upon myself. The old house needed a lot of work and combined with the new job every minut of my day was filled. Some of the nights too There was no more time for gaming and I had to put Lotro on the shelve. Well, the good thing is workload now is somewhat lesser and I took up Lotro again. With a new state of the art computer and what an experience I have had. I stopped at level 105 so everything beyond that is new. Dusksinger, my hunter, have a blast with all the new areas. Most of other players are long gone from the areas and I feel like a real explorer in almost empty areas. Its like how it should be. A lonely traveller in a wast new world. I have the feeling, while playing, like I had when reading the books. Heres not a crowd of others running for the same tasks, quests, mobs or nodes racing to reach the latest max-level. It is magnificent At another matter: my Annals of Arda is closed and I havent had any time to find another provider for it. Right now it is my intention I will but right now I have left it as is. Once again, those few who still remembers me and all of you who doesnt. The Valar-Guild Merry christmas and a happy new year.

It has been finished you are right Eonwe, its the same figure I used for a drawing years ago and made in pewter (I think its called) too but with wings. @varda; front was completed but now it has been oiled and the text as seen in opening thread carved into the backside. But, you wont see any difference save a slightly darker hue due to the oil.

Heyas old friends of the Valar Guild. In the last year or two I have tried woodcutting to see what it was like. Done a piece as a wedding gift for a girlfriend and her husband to be and lately I, as so often before, have returned to Tolkien. This piece is not totally finished but the rough cutting is more or less done and now remains long toil of finishing it. But I could not resist showing it here as it is at this point. I hope you like it. Yavanna.Yavanna the Giver of Fruits. She is the lover of all things that grow in the earth, and all their countless forms she holds in her mind, from the trees like towers in forests long ago to the moss upon the stones or the small and secret things in the mould. In the form of a woman she is tall, and robed in green; but at times she takes other shapes. Some there are who have seen her standing like a tree under heaven. Kementari, Queen of the Earth, she is surnamed in the Eldarin tongue. She is the giver of life and protector of that which grows and live. “All have their worth. And each contributes to the worth of others. But the Kelvar can flee or defend themselves, whereas the Olvar that grow cannot. And among these I hold trees dear. Long in the growing, swift shall they be in the felling, and unless they pay toll with fruit upon bough little mourned in their passing.” From the Valaquenta.

I am glad you liked it Varda I tried to let the music drive the pace and action. We (The Last Alliance) have now moved to Evernight Server. I see the reason they wanted to close some servers but couldnt they have weeded out the servers with non-tolkien names instead. Evernight. I hope you, Fangorn, Sauron, Eowyn, and the rest of yours are all well. Same goes for the rest of the Valar Guild of course but I guess not that many from my active days are still around. It is strange thinking its been some 15-16 years since I came around the Valar in Diablo but I have always thought of it has my internet birth and home even I rarely comes around. You have a place in my heart :-) Landroval is a closed market now with the server thingy as I understand it. I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year

Hello old friends, some of you may still remember me :-) I once was Beorn - Gwaihir - Amillo. At the Snowbourn Server I am Dusksinger. That name I chose long ago and still use and you can read about it in Vardas encyc Here is the movie I have been working on for some time. Its a tribute to Snowbourn server and the people there, kins and friends, those who played long ago and now is gone and those still lingers. Usually I see movies inside when listening to music and this song I have tried to place in the Lord of the Rings Online the game ive been playing for some 8 years. It has been a splendid time. I hope you will enjoy it. The Wild Frontier and Forty Shades of Green

A tad late but better late than never. Happy eighteen Anniversary Valar Guild Oh yes I am still around playing LoTRO as Dusksinger and will continue to do so until Sauron is down. My old kin Circle of Trust has merged with the Last Alliance, long term allies and friends, and soon with the server-reduktion we will become The Lost Alliance. It was quite funny reading about your running around and shooting fireworks as celebration. I tend to shooting too at every occasion I can find in the game seems some kind of karma is circling the world. I hope you are all well and wish you and the oldest guild ever in the history of the internet a prosperous and joyful year in the spirit of Tolkien.

Right, The quest in Edoras inside Meduseld "A Woven Tale" have the most beautiful tapestries telling about the history of Rohan. Do yourself the honor and enjoyment taking good time to Watch each and everyone of the tapestries. They are really worth it Greetings from Rohan (and Denmark)

As far as I know its a follow up on Neverwinter Night. I never played that one. Its free to play as can be done in Lotro but I havent found any limitations to gameplay (atm lvl 30 out of 60) itself though you will need to spend real money for some few things if you can not wait.
Rumour says when beta ends chars will transfer over as they are but should they be eradicated its not the end of the World.
Its easy played and has a good (evil dark and sinister ) feeling and atmosphere.
I am playing there with my euro-guild : The Last Alliance but their standards are as Valarities know them.

Heyas, The last for now in the series of Tolkien. www.annalsofarda.dk/Billed/veantur.jpgSize: 101 x 141 cm. Finished January 2013 "Véantur after 600 years of the Second age has passed brought his ship Entulessé into Mithlond on the spring winds blowing from the West." That was the sentence that stood in my mind and had done so for years. I had this picture of a ship on a clear spring day, cool blue sky, windy and the sea with small sharp waves with small white horses and the fresh green grass upon the rocky coast. But, in my research for how the Numenorian sailors stood "Tall in the high prows of their ships" I discovered there was no real description of how their ships looked. Besides that I had an idear of having read about the "Black sails of Numenor coming up from the sea" but all together I found no evidence of this could have been as early as in year 600 S.A. So, I came to the conclusion, The ship Entulassé must have been a smaller vessel, it was a dangerous journey and only later do we hear of the mighty ships of the Guilds of Venturers. There were no black sails at this time and no telling of any others colors, nor is there any guild crest to be shown on flags or banners. So when it all is boiled down this could just as well be a picture of any ship anywhere but it is not. Its Véantur and Entulassé coming to Mithlond with the tower of the Palantiri behind. As a sidenote: I am NOT happy with that tower. should have done it differently, its not good but done is done. The frame should somehow reflect the playing of colours and waves in the sea and is not as dark as it seems on photo.

But the wine, ale and beer does not seem to have returned. And the cookies Or maybe it did return but "someone" took advantage and had a party by themselves I remember someone once told me about a certain Kegrider and a guard-captain being drunk. It was a mess really and ... ;D

Heyas Its all too common this problem mentioned and the feeling of being a bit of a fool for tryint understandable. So for all its worth here is what we do in Circle of Trust to minimize the problem and give the host and participants of the event a chance to see if its going to happen. Instead of just having a weekly fixed run we use a calendar where anyone can set up an event and people can sign up. I would think a calendar could be found free somewhere (We use Guildportal.com circleoftrust.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=60404&TabID=525463 where we have a kinsite too so its all integrated with the kinsite) It works fine, when I make events/runs I can plan days - months even years ahead and friends/allies and kin can log into kinsite and calendar and sign up or resign again if somethings come in between. Everyone can see who with what kind of char has signed up and there is space for information and comments for the run. It does not get any easier than that
