Hehe, sorry about that Elrond, maybe I should have waited to see if anyone else would get it . Turgon, you'll be happy to know I have the perfect question(s) from fair Beleraind. When Finrod Felagund and Beren left Nargothrond to retrieve a silmaril, how many companions set out with them, who was the chief among the companions, and in what manner was the battle between Finrod and Sauron fought? Try to answer without your books, but it is a very hard one so if you have no clue, go ahead.

actually, that one is fairly easy They set out with 9 companions (including themselves). The battle was fought in song. "Songs of power they sang, each trying to sway the other"

Close, but no cigar. Correct on the singing part, but there were more than 9 companions and who was the chief of those companions? Take another shot

dang, too bad I ain't got my Sil here, or I would've looked it up.
anyways, Finrod himself was the chief.
I think the other option was 9 companions other than Finrod and Beren, so a total of 11.

I'm sorry if I get this right and steal it from you, but I believe the companions not counting Beren and Finrod, were 10 led by Edrahil...or something along those lines...and to answer all the questions sauron and finrod's contest was a song of power namarie

I said two, and I guess I should've said Men :} Hmm, should I accept Turgon's answer? :}
I guess I'll give it to you, since you've got the answer and I should've been more specific. The two I was looking for were Turin and Tuor. Your turn Turgon :}

ok, now no one has answered so I looked in my book and I couldn't find it anywhere, it just says that the first battle of beleriand was when morgoth returned and sent orcs against Thingol, however I do know the name of the second battle and all that, so maybe that's what you meant? Dagor-nuin-Giliath, which is Battles Underneath the Stars because at the time neither the sun nor moon had risen and the stars were the only light, apart from the elvish eyes that shone like them yes yes? Anywho feel free to smite this triumphant effort...namarie
