We live in the forests, whilst our likenesses may be found where they have sat at the turnings of the road since the Dark Years, before ever a ship came to the western shores.

Shining softly in the dark Swiftly I shall come to you Stymied not by knots of Sam.

The fierce halfling was about my size And I fear that I was not wise To face him with battle in my eyes, But friends we became to my surprise.

Saruman's signpost was a white hand showing the way to Isengard.
Arm of black: pillar holding up the hand, plus the concept of Saruman's turning evil.
It's just a hand, no body attached.
Grip of stone: a hand made of stone.
Cunning and malice: Curunir the cunning had a lot of malice.
It's turned towards Isengard, home of whom it is the sign of, but will not be moving towards it.
The white hand was made white, for Saruman the White. But it later had red paint.
It was knocked down.
