Fainan:
She mostly managed to restrain a smile. "Perhaps the bootprints, hoofprints, and leavings from our horses might tell a tale."

Fainan:
"I would rather not blazon our names for the Enemy to read, either. How then would you like to cover up what we have already done?"

Fainan:
"Sir Telperos, after your scouting the stores, how would you recommend that we best destroy the stores and make it appear the yrch did it themselves?"

Fainan:
"Thank you for your confidence. And although we kid about you, your behavior has always been that of a decent and capable person. The idea of the guard house is sound. As for old scrolls, I had my fill in Rivendell's libraries, unless you need help. As for supplies, perhaps I could range out a bit to check for unwanted company and wanted small game?"

Fainan:
"Auros, before that can be answered, how will we hide our group's presence of five days, including that of our horses?"

Fainan:
Fainan recognized the love of a special bow and desire to share its wonder with one who could appreciate it. She laid her own cautiously to one side, away from hooves, and examined the beautiful work. This was built in the old style... no, it *was* the old style, truly magnificent. It should be in a vault for safekeeping. Without need to try, she could see that the draw weight would be too much for her, so she did not string it. She set it back, carefully, and picked up her own again. Its familiar feel seemed comforting against the fog creeping in around them, a weird version of the Dol Guldur- tainted darkness in Mirkwood.
She stepped close to Frali. "I'm glad you're with me, stalwart one. This place... even the shadows are wrong."

Fainan:
"If Auros trusts you, then so do I. Nice shooting! My name is Fainan, scout of Mirkwood." She drew her arrow from the orc's chest, the shaft broken in the fall. She kept the arrowhead as it was still good.

Fainan:
"This fine horse wasn't in the tunnel, was it?" she asked with a smile. Approaching the magnificent animal slowly, she let it sniff her. "Is your name Good News? Will you let me check your old injuries while your discoverer tells your story? You could stand brushing as well. Perhaps you would even let someone small like Frali ride you?"

Fainan:
"Well, not quite nothing." Fainan pointed out scuff marks in front of a rather small hole. "Might be two pairs of feet. Either they were dragging something or covering their tracks, except for a couple of stray marks." If one can track a spider, one has to be able to spot light marks.

Something deceptive going on? In Angmar? Well, probably. I like bringing the orc sword since we invested so much story time on it. It should be part of this upcoming plot. Frali and Estarion both fell in the enchanted river. That may have made both of them sensitive to the sword's magic, but since the water was elven magic, it was less of a problem for Estarion to get past. Frali, as a dwarf, is fighting both elf and morgul magic that are foreign to him, and is therefore affected. This sensitivity may be useful in using the orc sword to help find its owner or its other half or both, as he may be more able to detect some reaction in it. Also, the staff and sword might draw towards each other mutually, warning whomever is holding the staff when the "orc sword" is near enough, at least in the same room. Comments welcome. Some of this is from tossing ideas back and forth live with Eonwe, but just ideas, not set in stone.
