Let's go with Old Winyard's this year :}
*Passes around the glasses for a toast.*
*Raises glass* To the Valar Guild. To our health, our family, our friends, prosperity, and posterity in the years to come. May they be both long and full of joy.

Happy New Year to all the Guild and everybody else who visits this forum on a regular basis! Another year has passed, one of both sorrow and happiness. Let us hope that happiness continues while the sorrow can be left behind in the memories of 2004.
2005: 50 years since RotK was first published. Well, according to my book. And still the works of Tolkien occupy our minds, not least because of the movies released over the past years. Yet even without the movies the books retain their popularity after all this time, and I do not doubt we will carry them over into 2006, 2007, and many many years beyond.
And as long as the works of Tolkien, and the ideals they strengthen in our modern lives, hold ground, this Guild will no doubt prosper even further, and its members remain an honorable and respectable group.
To Tolkien and all that his work represents! To humanity! To honor, friendship, and peace! To the Valar Guild!
