I would like to start working a thread per instance to keep them somewhat organized. And not so much as sign up thread here, but more on info on the instance. Both for those who have run it and had difficulty and those that havenot run it before.
Now on the moria instances, there tends to be a hardmode and quest mode. So it is with Grand Stairs.
Hard mode in GS is a timed mode, from the point where you activate the first boss to the point where you engage the second boss, you have 10 minutes.
Getting to the first boss in time can be tricky. For a group that is both used to working together and is well balanced, it is a snap. You simply take the fiorst boss down, blow through the baddies on the way and take the second boss.
The First Boss
The first boss is pretty easy ... you just have to either have a captain to remove fear ... minstrels have one but the cool down is too slow and the range is very short ... or carry a fair amount of fear pots. He will be your first fight. Engage him in the center of the platform.
He has an AOE fear effect that will heal him. If you get feared pot it immediately. Otherwise he will heal almost to full and continue to extend the fight.
The Second Boss - Narduck
Narduck is essentially just a tank and spank. What you have to worry about is that he will toss you off the platform. Make sure you clear everything around him and fight him with your back to a wall.
Once both bosses are done within the time limit you have secured Hard Mode.
I will cover Igash in the following post, the fight is tricky and deadly to the uninitiated.
