Hello everyone..and thank you for welcoming me. I look forward to joining your ranks and discussing the wonderful world that Tolkien created for us. And playing with you that are in LotRO. Tolkien holds a special place for me. my father was a huge Tolkien fan and he would read to me from the books as a small child. And he bought the animated versions of the Hobbit and the LotR and we would watch them together. I always loved the story as well though. But after he died when i was around 12 or so i forgot about Tolkiens world. It wasnt until PJ made the movies that i rediscovered it. I felt that I owed it to my father to watch these movies for him. And in so doing I fell in love with the world as my father had. And since then..i have bought several editions of the LotR book and read it numerous times as well as the Silmarillion(which i still have alot to learn about..lol) and several of the Unfinished Tales books. I am really looking forward to the "Children of Hurin" book soon to be published as well. Since rediscovering Tolkien it has opened me up to Fantasy writing in general. I never read much fantasy before. But since Ive read almost all of R.A.Salvatore and im now in the process of reading the "Malazan Empire" books by Stephen Erickson.
I am 33yrs old and I live in South Carolina. I am orginally from Nottingham,England. I left there when i was around 7yrs of age and then moved to Canada for a brief stint. And then we came to South Carolina where my father was from. I still have family all over England and some in Canada. They come down here almost every winter to get out of the cold lol. I am a huge computer gamer and sports fan...and football season is what i live for lol. GO COWBOYS! lol. But i look forward to talking all things Tolkien with all of you very soon. TTYL
