Greetings, and welcome to the Valar Guild Forums! Before going much further, I must ask you to review our Naming policy, found here valarguild.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=MGannouncements&action=display&thread=1072124138. We reserve straight out Tolkien names (such as Eonwë as opposed to Eonwë732 or EonwëKeeperoftheRing for rough examples) for full members of the Valar Guild as we take a Tolkien name upon joining, giving this person also any variants of that name. So, I must ask you to change your name. One way to do this would be to add a surname to your screen name. Since from your other posts you seem to have have the Silmarillion, I'd suggest using its list of Elvish roots to create something unique and meaningful for yourself, as unique and meaningful is the way to go :} Another option is to simply use this name you come up with instead as your screen name instead. There are other ways to change your name of course, but these two came to mind as the best. Your screen name can be changed in your profile. If you have any questions about the Naming Policy or need further help in changing your screen name ,you can e-mail me or send a PM through this board. Please do this as soon as you may. As you will notice when you read the Naming Policy, we have 2 forms of membership: Full Membership (which includes the perks of a unique Tolkien name and its variants within the Valar Guild, plus the ability to game with us in the myriad of games we play using those names, as well as Tolkien discussion, chat, Encyclopedia, and others) and Tolkien-Only Membership (which gives, as it implies, the Tolkien part only). If either of these two forms of membership interest you, I encourage you to contact myself or Varda (either one for full, Varda for Tolkien-Only). Make sure you have read our Rules and CoC pages, and I always recommend browsing as many of our other pages as you can as well. Take care. Eonwë

Ah, a thousand aplogies, I will have this name until I can find a better one, it means 'Lord of Shadow' merely a substitute. Thank you for the clarification Eonwe.

Heruwath, do you have a favorite area of discussion? Race such as Elves or Dwarves? Time period such as Third Age or the stories of the Exiles? Character such as Finrod, Beleg, Feanor, or Aragorn? Loved the movie but feel jolted by changes? Driven crazy by how to use Elvish? Did Balrogs have wings and, if so, did they work? Feel free to bring it up on the Forum, although you may hear a few groans when the balrog wings are mentioned.
We love to talk about it all, and would be happy to have you join us at a live Tolkien chat Sundays 5pm EST. See our News page for ways to reach us, AIM being the one most used but not the only one. The chat changes wildly according to who is present to contribute, so no topic is too old.

Thank you for the welcome Varda. Hmmm lets see.....I mainly like the First Age and anything before that up until the creation of Arda. Favorite characters are Feanor, Maedhros, Ulmo, Hurin, Turin, Tuor and a few others. I like Numenoreans and the Noldor. And dont worry I have discussed the Balrog wings topic many a time.
