Greetings, and farewell,
I just wanted to thank Valar Guild members for their warmth and hospitality during my stay here. You truly are a friendly and helpful group, and I've enjoyed my time here.
I originally joined Valar because of friends who've also joined, as well as Valar's interest in the world Tolkien created. I am a fan pf Tolkien's works, but I am a gamer first, and as such I already belonged to another group of friends who play MMOs. I had hopes of Valar being a friend to our group in-game, but I realize how difficult that is to maintain. As a result, we need to find a guild or alliance who is open to such a relationship.
I will remove my characters Cipheron, Ciphara, and Ciphorin when they are fewer members online to avoid any drama or head scratching. Or feel free to remove them when convenient.
I wish you the best of luck, and will certainly miss you all. Namarie.

Rory, I was confused by what you were asking me in-game. It sounded as if you were thinking the Valar channel was open to anyone in any other kin that one of our members is in. It can't be.
If you were looking for us to make an alliance channel, that would be a different idea, and we could work that out perhaps. As it is now, we have people with a character here and there in so many kins that our current friend channel would wind up being GLFF.
I'm sorry that you feel unwelcome, because you are quite welcome to be with us as both a Tolkien fan and a gamer. Good fortune in your future endeavors.

Thanks for the reply, Varda.
All of our community members were interested in joining Valar Guild when coming to play LOTRO. Unfortunately many were turned off by the idea of taking a Tolkien quiz to join (even though I didn't mind). Worse, not everyone in our gaming community was a Tolkien fan. So naturally we had to form our own kinship to be connected in-game, hence why some of my characters are in Valar and some in our kinship.
I was originally under the assumption that our small group would be welcome at Valar channel chat since they were friends. We had even talked about this when I joined. Unfortunately this became an issue after instructing our newest member to join Valar channel. We never had this problem in the past. And since I certainly don't want to step on toes with Valar, my small group needs to find another community which is open to this sort of friendship.
