There are multiple realms? That's too bad.... there go my plans to reach Blizzard-fame by enslaving the entire European PvP server under the control of the Forsaken.... sigh.... oh well, guess I have to settle with one realm

I'll probably be buying it anyway, perhaps even pre-order it. I was planning to play on both American and European servers, as long as I didn't have to have more than one account. I'm quite sure they will think of that solution, so I can join your guys, but if not, I'll just focus on Europe instead. I'm sure I can find a (few) good guild(s) there, although I would have liked nothing better than to play with you guys. And if all else fails... we'll always have Guildwars. And perhaps MEO. Either way, I won't isolate myself from you guys

That comment made me thinking, and I decided to do a bit of research, coming to this conclusion. Durotar was the name of the land, and it was named after Durotan, father of Thrall. In the second cinematic of RoC, Medivh adressed Thrall as the son of Durotan, not of Durotar. And no, I didn't hear that wrong, as the subtitle gave an -n. Also, in the history, the land is still named Durotar. I hope this clears up the situation. Just because the land was named after Thrall's father, it doesn't mean they have to be exactly the same.

Recently, Blizzard has put up a large history section, which includes in full detail the history of Azeroth and it's universe, from the beginning until the beginning of WoW. The last page has not been completed at the time of this post, but will probably contain all history between TFT and WoW. Also, it lists the games and novels about Azeroth, handy for collectors. Here's the link: www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/Any comments on the history are welcome in this thread.

Does anybody here know where to find the musics used in the many trailers of wow, and also partially in the trailers of war3? I love them, and would like to download them completely, but cannot find them. Only one of the tracks, 'legends', can be downloaded from the Blizzard site, the rest downloadable there are background music for certain zones.
If anybody here has a link or other information which would be helpful to me, please post it in this thread.
Thank you, Phara

First thing: Welcome, Turgon, in your own forum, and I hope soon you'll get your connection again, in full and forever Second: If that European beta information was the information you got from me, I did not get it from the insider actually, although that was a topic we discussed. Instead I read it on the worldofwar.net site on the news. If you got that information from a second source, that could work, but I do not see it in the most recent insider. Which seems to have appeared yesterday, by the way. Third: If you truly have those connections, can you get me a place in the Europe beta as well? ;D

Since most of the regular main meeting attendants won't be playing WoW, at least in the beginning, I will certainly attend every main meeting I can, on AIM or Bnet, but I do not think I would do so for the WoW meetings, at least not while there are so few of us playing the game. At least Bnet was accessible from many Blizzard games. If the two meetings would take place at the same time, I would choose the main meeting, and probably completely ignore the WoW meeting. If you want to set up the WoW meeting, go ahead (not that you need my permission or anything), but don't expect me to attend that one very often.
If there are more who think this way, I doubt the WoW meeting will be very crowded...

I know this probably isn't worth a whole new thread, but there is no other thread to put it in, and, if even on pure impulsiveness, I just have to say it... I just read the greater part of a forum thread about WoW, and some guys on 1 forum wanting to make a WoW guild, and discussion has started about Guilds, especially pre-release Guilds, and their sometimes strict rules and short life expectations... and guys I'm so incredibly glad I'm already a member of this Guild! At least we'll be sure the branch will last very long, and all who start it already know each other for a longer time... I feel unbelievably safe about my future in WoW Edit: this was my 50th post... ArPharazon is now officially Numenorean And don't worry, I did not post it because of that reason...

I certainly hope so, but in any case I will sign-up for the beta in my own continent. Any idea when that one starts? (Europe and the rest of the globe)

Well, I'm not sure of that. We might be able to use the Guild-friend-rank, in some occasions. What if, for example, we have somebody who wants to join the guild as a whole, but just hasn't gotten around to the test yet? Or who wants to reread Lotr first? We could keep them as Guild-friends, let them see what the Guild is all about. After a reasonable time we could let them choose, to take the test and be a real member, or leave the guild to search for one more suitable for his/her needs and desires. We could call it a try-out-period, with far less rights than members, of course. Also, during that period we could boot them for frequent use of foul language, disturbing the matters of the Guild, or other such matters. For such a period, the rank of Guild-friend could be quite useful IMHO.

Are you sure? Our WoW branch site www.geocities.com/maglorv/wow.html so far seems to give 5 players... with perhaps one or two who have made their WoW intentions clear without being in the list... perhaps we should start with a party then

Do I not show my interest in the Valar Guild as a whole? Among other things I visit every meeting, and do my best to give (relevant) information.. In fact, I found a few links to a few pages about Lotr Movie Mistakes, so I even have something to bring in next meeting If the showed interest is good enough for the Veteran position, I guess my rank is pretty much assured. I certainly show more interest in the Guild then just the WoW branch, don't I? But what I was wondering is this: so far there are like half a dozen Guild-members interested. And even though it is highly probable the amount will rise, will we even have enough players to start a WoW guild? I hope you do not mind me posting this here, in this thread, because it is hardly potentially discussable enough to create a new thread... and I have already have at least 1 thread out with no response so far. Also, the relevance of this question to the ranking topic could also be defended by the fact that if we don't have that many members, the ranks won't even matter that much...

I don't mind starting anywhere between Maiar and Friend membership, although, if I start at a low level, it shouldn't be too hard to rise to higher status.
