Trying to summing issues up. 1. Housing : We aim for a guild house near Rivendell ( it says a housing zone will be near or in the woods Trollshave there. 2. Good / evil chars : Not defined yet as we will not be able to play an evil char in the release. 3. General rules : As it has always been in Valar. 4. Ranking : Valar, Maiar and members. The leader and heir are chosen among the Valar. The rest of the rank-positions are left blank. If we should find we need a rank for guild-friends it is only to open it. 5. Standing : ( towards other guilds / players ) : We should set it for Friendly or at least Neutral. If this is ok please respond with an Aye to each or No Edit : 31/08-04 ( Summoning-Summing

(Summing up :} ,.. Summoning is when you call something or someone to you, as when a Necromancer summons spirits )
1.)Aye
2.)I would say Good only, not to be confused with Virtuous. I don't think they'll have evil races (orcs, trolls)at any point, but that's speculation this early. As for Virtuous/Corrupt, that's a hard call, but I suppose one could play a corrupt char if they want to as long as they don't violate our Rules and CoC.
3.)Aye
4.) Won't be a problem :} the top two ranks are 1-person slots anyway, making the three remaining Valar, Maiar, and Members, assuming we can assign the responsibilities of Maiar to the respective group. If so, I suspect there will only be one Vala outside of the Leader and Heir :} But we'll see, I may be wrong.
5.)Aye. No wars against other Guilds. We should be self-reliant.
Well, I didn't give the simple aye/no, so hope you don't mind :}
Take care :} Eonwë

I did not wanted to open the question of virtuous / corrupt chars in this thread so settled for guild standing towards others. But I guess the question needs to be discussed as I think corruption will be unavoidable to some degree.

1. Aye. Housing in the Rivendell vicinity should make it fairly central to the entire game world, and a nice location in the start-up. It should also be friendly to all races. We may find that our characters don't start there and will have to travel to it. Elves might start in the Tower Hills, for instance. The Rivendell area will probably be prime real estate and we'd better start setting aside gold or barter points for it quickly. We might also consider a string of small individual houses all along the King's Road, for places any Guild member can drop into for a safe place to park. 2. Right. We can't play the forces of Sauron, cutting down the confusion. Our characters might become corrupted by our choices, even as the good-aligned Frodo was. In the MeO game, it sounds as if such a person would still be able to work with a good group. Only the motives would be different, such as an elven avenger out for vengeance for the destruction of our forest rather than to protect it as an elven archer scout. We might have to watch corrupted players to prevent them from going too far. 3. Aye. "General rules as it always has been in Valar" means we behave in a friendly manner to each other, and at least courteous to all others, along with the no-hack, no-cheat. 4. Aye. Ranking as always, done by Tolkien knowledge and service to the guild as a whole, rather than just MeO. That should confuse outsiders. Leader and Heir need to be Valar honor, because they know what's going on guild-wide and are proven to be members who believe in Eru's Vision. Well put, Elatan. Aye, Eonwe, we may have to combine Valar and Maiar in one group in MeO, but we would continue to have the same special Valar testing ability for Tolkien and whole guild Council option for the Valar honor(s) who do come. 5. ?. Standing towards other guilds and players. I was unaware of such a thing. Friendly might mean some sort of undesirable obligation in their system such as joining their foolish wars over trivial or non-existent issues? We generally have opted to keep separate from other groups, as they do not operate our way and our way of life would cease to exist. Neutral might be more descriptive of our general attitude? Certainly not Hostile. Individuals do of course become dear friends, by their behavior.
