Also known as BFME, this is a newer game by EA Games, its a lot better than WOTR in my opinion but of course it could be better. For more info check out this site, www.rpgplanet.com/memw/

I've considered getting BFME, but right now I prefer WotR. The hero skills being based on a timer rather than mana is rather appealing. My only real complaint is that the WotR map editor is on the level of WC2, a game nearing (if not completing) 10 years older than it. If the Map editor were on par with WC3, I could not complain at all. The graphics are quite excellent, and I enjoy them immensely now that I have a computer that can process them (i.e. the thick, wavy grass) :}
We do have members who play this however. They'll have to make themselves known :}
Take care. Eonwë

I have it. Don't know if I like the multiplay, haven't tried it yet. With WoW on the way, I just said to myself I'd finish the campaigns of BfME with all the free time I have, and move on to WoW afterwards. Starting on easy mode (was planning on perhaps going for hard mode at a later date) I defeated the evil campaign with very little effort. I never missed any bonus objective (except for one practically impossible one in the Emyn Muil), and never lost a hero, though I used them quite a bit. Even the final level didn't pose any hindrance whatsoever. If you're looking for a challenge, don't try evil on easy mode.
After that, I started the good campaign, also on easy mode. I got pretty far with no trouble at all, but got stuck on Helm's Deep yesterday morning. After trying it a few times, and getting overwhelmed each time, I put it aside, since WoW is now also in my possession. When Fladrif came to visit yesterday, I lent him BfME, since I was pretty frustrated with it at the time ;D I'll retry it at a later time, of course, after I get over the initial WoW-obsession. For now, it's waiting until I get my pre-paid gamecard next week, after that I'll be joining in WoW (Europe, of course). In the meanwhile, I'll spend my time surfing the web and getting back in War3.
Anyway, back to BfME. I have it, played it, and lent it out because I got stuck at the same battle over and over. Don't have WOTR (the game, that is), so I couldn't compare it. I love the game itself. Campaign-mode is new to me, and awsome. I like the heroes quite a bit. The resource gathering is amazing, the limited bases (places with building-fundaments)-aspect is pretty nice, to prevent you from flooding the map with towers, and the ring/evenstar-powers are quite impressive, and yet not too overpowered. Not to mention, of course, the Lotr-aspect... the story's good, the cinematics look cool, the authentic movie-portraits, -voices, and -music are great too. I recommend it.
