So as not to clutter the News web page (and give Varda more work <g> ) I'm posting a few demo links I found interesting.
One is for a Tom Clancy's latest SP game (also has an MP version coming out soon, apparently) "Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow". A lot is based on stealth (although not as much as something like "Thief" which takes it to a new level) and depending on what you try, certain scripted scenes will ensue. The demo has two scenarios, the second being rather boring as nothing much can or does happen. Obviously, if you don't like SP don't bother (there Gwaihir, I said it! ;D):

Another is "Spellforce" (also have Spanish, French, German versions of the demo) a game that is similar to Diablo II and Warcraft combined (maybe more Warcrafty as you build settlements and armies). There's a tutorial that walks you through the gameplay and you can also play a character on your own in demo mode. Usually I'm not a big fan of these games because it takes so long to set things up, but the tutorial gave me a better insight into the gameplay options):

Also, if you didn't catch it on the news page, there's a Diablo II type game called "Sacred". The main web site is " sacred-game.com/" but I don't think the demo is available from there oddly enough. Try a search in google if you want to test out the demo (I found a bunch of download areas).
-----
BTW, if anyone else has any demos or games they've tried and liked, please post your info or email me. I like to see how the gaming industry (and computer industry, for that matter) is progressing by trying out the different types. Also keeps me off the streets <snortle!>.
thx,
