Specifically in Hell and somewhat in NM as well.
After hearing from others and doing a few Hellforge Quests myself, it has occured to me that it may be better for someone that needs quest credit to leave the party(even in guild games) and smash the Hellstone unpartied for the quest.
Note that this is intended to be done when there is(are) more than one person in the party that needs the quest done. The reasoning behind this is The Rune drops. I'll set out an example below...
Lets say that I am playing with Erestor, Varda, Arathorn,
Gildor, and for the fun of it, Bilbo and Frodo.
Ok Bilbo and Frodo and Gildor have both completed the quest previously and the rest of us still need the quest finished. We all know that there is a likelyhod of high rune(s) droppinmg from the hellforge itself, as well as the fact that Hephasto can also drop decent high runes.
Lets go on to say that Varda just wants the quest finished for herself, and that she is not seeking any specific runes at the moment. On the other hand Erestor, Myself and Arathorn are looking for specific runes at the moment.
In the long run, It migh benifit the three of us if we all played the quest out in consecutive games that included all the same players as the original party, and each of us unpartied when the time came to smash the Hellstone.
To me it seems that the odds of getting varied runes would be a little more favorable this way...say rather then all of us completing the quest at the same time.
We would all get extra experience as well and maybe some levels as well.
Note that Running Hephasto in hell still can result in rune drops regardless of weather or not the quest has been done or not...
