A member in the Elves of Imladris, a kinship on MEO, has made a map showing the "home" locations of several kinships. Find it here: cityofimladris.com/city/map.htmlIt takes a while for it to download, but it's worth it :} Enjoy :} Eonwë

Handy map! Thanks!
What do you gentles think of making our kinship base at or as near as possible to Rivendell?
It's available in the first version without needing an expansion. It's centrally located. Even in the books it was presumably friendly to all races. The elfhome even let in dwarves: Gloin was willing to go with his son, Gimli, to Rivendell, apparently unannounced. It has a philosophy similar to our own.

Hmmm.. seems crowded around Rivendell... map is getting filled up in the west, actually <g> er.. how about JUST north of Lorien *or* by the bridge next to Mirkwood, between the 2 established Elven kinship posts?:

How about in the Mountains east of Rivendell? Makes a great place for celebrating Eruhantalë.

To use both suggestions, in or as near as possible to the mountains east of Rivendell, north of Lorien, not far from the pass through the mountains and Old Forest Road? The trick is, a house has to be available. If it is, you bet! As long as it's in the first installment of MeO rather than an expansion, it will work. Your suggestions also keep it central to the whole map, good for later.
Now I have to learn those mountains, heh.

I like the area between Weather Hills and Ettenmoors near Hoarwell. My reason is it is "unknown" not much is told of the area and thus we are free to use our own imaginations ( until release ) It is not in the common travel routes but still close to Rivendell, Hithaeglir and the high pass as some like and will be in the first version. Besides if the game ever get boats we would be able to sail to the sea ;D

Elatan, I'm so sure MeO'll have boats, that I'll bet a MeO dagger from the actual game to give you if they don't.
Your suggestion for a spot sounds good too, especially since boats would help our characters reach home base with greater ease. It's also close (sort of) to the spots the rest of us mentioned.

Just a post to help out cause I think that only Eriador will be avaiable in the first release, so nothing after Moria will be avaiable. Unless ofc you guys are discussing the final location of your guild and not you temporary one until more expansions arrive

Thanks Thaliost. We do want the spot to be in the first release. I checked the FAQ on MeO and here's what it says currently:
What regions of Middle-earth will be available when the game is released?
The initial release of MEO will cover most of Eriador plus a bit more -- from the coast of Lindon in the West to the Misty Mountains in the East, all the way up to the Ice Bay of Forochel in the North and down to the Brandywine in the South.

Hmm looking at my map that is quite a chunk of land still, but rules out anything East of the Misty Mountains for our home.
I'm not quite sure there will be any sort of housing outside of the cities, but doesn't mean we can't just meet in the middle of nowhere :} A nice secluded mountain might be Mount Gram in the Northern Mountainous area. The Rivendell area probably won't be quite as crowded as it seems right now once the game hits stores, so that's still a place to consider. So far we've got : East of Rivendell, North of it, West (sort of) of it. No South? :}
I kind of like Elatan's idea, as long as we're close to Rivendell :}

Just thought I'd let you know the map has been updated. Still a bit of time for the download if you've got a modem, but I still feel like it's worth the wait :}
