I think I'll put this to everyone now.
My original intention for a World of Warcraft meeting was because the main meeting was on bnet, and I understood some would either not have a bnet game or wish never to return to bnet (it happens :}). However, the Sunday Guild meeting has now except for rare moments moved to AIM, and I think we all can make it to that.
So, would you all rather have a separate World of Warcraft Meeting on top of the Main Meeting (as in, you would be asked to attend one or the other, both if possible), or would you just like to attend the Sunday Guild Meeting as usual?
If we are to have both, we will need a day I can be there as well as everyone else, or I will need Maiar and/or other Valar on WoW who could hold it. As I've said before, I intend to still go to Sunday meetings (and I hope others do too), so the WoW meeting, should there be one, will not overlap the Main Meeting.
OK guys, have at it :}

I know you have already said that the two meetings shouldn't over lap, but since they are in AIM, why not have them at the same time? I dont know about anyone else, but during the meeting I'm not *just* at the meeting. I'm normally doing other things, sometimes other chats, sometimes playing flash games, in the background. Its not like it takes time to switch from one meeting to the next, and the info in the meetings doesn't exactly FLY by.
I think it would work if the WoW meeting was scheduled for when the Tolkien Discussion starts on the Guild meeting. That way those of us who want to participate in Tolkien Discussion and the WoW meeting can just switch back and forth.
Just my two cents.

Since most of the regular main meeting attendants won't be playing WoW, at least in the beginning, I will certainly attend every main meeting I can, on AIM or Bnet, but I do not think I would do so for the WoW meetings, at least not while there are so few of us playing the game. At least Bnet was accessible from many Blizzard games. If the two meetings would take place at the same time, I would choose the main meeting, and probably completely ignore the WoW meeting. If you want to set up the WoW meeting, go ahead (not that you need my permission or anything), but don't expect me to attend that one very often.
If there are more who think this way, I doubt the WoW meeting will be very crowded...

I think this is a valid point; with only 5 of us planning on playing WoW from release I doubt a meeting will be required. I mean, chances are that we will be playing together, and any new info can be passed along with the message board and Branch site. Maybe once there are more WoW players and it becomes not so easy to organize, then we might need meetings. Maglor

On Joining Meetings: Simply log onto AIM, then hit the chat button. You will get a screen with 3 text fields. The first is who you want to invite. If you don't want to send chat invitations to others, just delete any names here and type your own. The next one is a message (Join me in this chat." Ignore this. The third is the chat room. Type "Valar Guild Meetingplace" in this spot. That will get you in for Guild Meetings.
On Two Meetings:
Honestly, if the choices are either WoW meetings or Guild meetings, I'd want everyone to choose the main meeting so we don't become too divided from the rest of the Guild. I want members from every branch to have a common meeting ground since we are not all on the same planet, so to speak. Some WoW stuff could be shared at the main meeting, with more branch-specific stuff being passed through the Forum or the Web page (or both). Not that we can't plug some events at the meeting so everyone knows we're having fun :}
So as for results so far,we have: 2 for focusing on the Main Meeting (one at least while we're small)
1 for needing to know how to do an AIM meeting :}
I of course did not count my vote on this matter. My thoughts are clear :}
Take care :} Eonwë

Well, thats 4 votes out of the five of us, and as Turgon is only on sporadically lately I think we have a start. Now if only WoW would come out sooner . Maglor

No real need for a meeting, we can handle whatever issues in this forum probably. Orome

Maybe, Orome, but the main meeting provides us with a set time for us to gather up, share information, and exchange ideas. I myself think it would be wise to have meetings along with the main, but not at the same time, because there are times that meetings can get very interesting. Anyways, I think particularly in the beginning it would be wise to have meetings, so we can "beef" our guild performance as pioneers, and can provide new or old friends with a very good variety of knowledge concerning gameplay and other things.
Unfortunately, I have already overstayed my time here right now, and I gotta go. If you have any questions on why exactly I think this way or how I would like to see these meetings filled, just ask them and I will answer them as soon as I return.

Ok so let's examine the votes again. I'm going to divide them a bit differently this time and include my input.
3 for focusing on the main meeting.
1 for focusing on the main meeting at least for now, with the possibility of a branch meeting as well when we are larger.
1 for a branch meeting right off the bat.
If we did have a branch meeting, chances are it would be on Saturday as that's the only time a majority of people could make it besides Sunday (and we've been through that :}). I was considering putting it at the same time as the WC3 meeting, since that one never really got off the ground. Chances are that the WoW one wouldn't get off the ground either though, so it would probably be later in the day on Saturday. (Ironically, it seems after looking back on the web pages, my WC3 meeting time is about the same time as the former Sat chats. Talk about coincidence.. :})

Also the same time as the sat Tolkien chats, which never got off the ground either lol.
That why I'm proposing to have the WoW-meeting right before or right after the main meeting.
On the other hand (Just thought of this), it might not be necessary to have separate meetings, as most of our stuff would be handled in the main meeting. We could always call for a "special meeting" if we need to handle some things outside the main. This "special meeting" should be held just prior or just after the main.
