Yes, I'm still here. I thought I'd do an update.
I'm still playing on Begeren Colony. I've joined a HUGE, and I mean HUGE collection of guilds which focus on all three disciplines (RP/PVP/PVE). They are known as "The Jedi Community of Guilds" and have been around for about 12+ years. There are 3 Republic guilds and 3 Imperial guilds, plus one residual guild on Ebon Hawke. There is a force user guild on each side, "The Jedi Order" and "The Sith Order" (the residual guild on Ebon is also Jedi Order) Then for the Troopers is the Republic Special Forces, mirrored by Mando'ade Aliite on the Imperial side. For the more ranged types are the Republic Privateers for Smugglers and the Imperial Black Operations for the other side. Of these four guilds the non-force classes can mingle across the guilds. Force users are force users and can only join Jedi or Sith, everyone else can join the rest but not Jedi or Sith. The division of classes really isn't that bad as they use a common "community" chat channel and Team Speak to keep in touch. The two force guilds are nearly 1,000 characters (400+ members) with the other four running from 200-500 characters each. about 1/3 of the members of the force guilds also have characters in the other, so I would guess about 700 unique individuals. Did I mention they are big? The original creators spent a lot of time thinking out the advancement system and charter, and it has worked well. I have advanced with my Sith and am working on the top rank for my Jedi and my Imperial non-force characters. The last will be the Republic non-force characters, but I won't get to them until later. I might apply for some type of officer/council position. Those are juried and include RP, PVE, and PVP positions. Gotta do something, my characters are all nearly max rank.
Game content has been regularly updated. They do a pretty good job with sticking to the Star Wars lore. I do miss the LOTR lore though, it is still my favorite. I'd like to do some WoW, especially the new stuff, but I can't afford to buy the expansion then pay for membership. I really liked the new hunter pets I saw with the Draeni release.
Anyway, I'm on Begeren Colony if anyone wants to visit. I also have an unused guild on the 'Pub side if someone wants to just come and have a base to hang out at, it's a cool name, "Destiny"
