Frali:
Frali looked thoughtful. He was of torn mind. On the one hand there was the risk of being discovered and/ or risking a fight against superior numbers which probably would not end favourably and the thrill of searching the buildings, not knowing what really would await them. He wouldn't mind spending a few days out of the saddle with the prospect of a slightly more comfortable place to rest at night. The guard house sounded a good place to stay and a chance for new supplies if there was something like that in this accursed place was to be considered. Finally he spoke aloud. "Frali of Erebor, at your service and your family's.", the young dwarf said with a bow to Telperos. "If I may say so, we are an able group of skilled fighters and scouts. I fear no orcs or dead or whatever might linger in this place, and my axe would not mind to see some use, my good elves." He grinned a bit and added: "It would not hurt to find some additional blankets or spare clothes or maybe something that is of use for our good mounts."

Frali:
Frali watched the meeting between Elf and horse with mixed feelings, part of him smiled and felt the joy of the two companions, part of him was jealous of the obvious friendship between the two. "Of course I miss out on this again" he thought to himself with a slight scowl. "No chance now that I ever get to be an expert rider or a horse friend - not that one has ever heard of among Durin's people. I am not even worthy enough to be introduced to this guy."
With a sigh the young dwarf watched the group disappear into the old house. Immediately he noticed they had opened the door without effort - not as one would expect in a place that should be have been abandoned for several centuries. In response he loosened the sword in his scabbard and made sure his shield was easily in reach should the need arise. Intensely he stared into the suddenly arising fog and nodded at Fainan: "Something stinks", he confirmed. "The stones in the houses doesn't feel right if you know what I mean. Not as .. well solid as they should. It might be age of course .. but it doesn't feel right." He groped for words. "A bit like I felt, when I had that sword .. not quite right." - ..

Frali:
The young dwarf followed the Elves silently, actually pleased with the paces and handling of the horse although he hated to be wedged between Auros and Fainan. It gave him no chance going exploring himself, having a look at ruins, search for adventures or make use of his knowledge about forges or stonework.
As they now stopped outside what clearly had been a major settlement, Frali felt curiosly drawn to the place. Grumbling, however, he took the reins of the two other horses spiited beasts but without malevolence or ill manner. In fact he admired the beauty of the beasts, although their size still scared him somewhat and while he was waiting he mustered their kit and saddlework and the way the baggage was packed. So while he was waiting, Frali couldn't help wondering where in all this, that sword was that he had been using back in Mirkwood. The thought only brushed him for a moment for then a strange Elf stepped towards Auros and he watched him intensely.

Frali:
Frali shook his head. "Nothing of interest." he said. "There might be a bigger building there maybe not too far from the tunnel. Maybe the tunnel led to cellars or other underground rooms belonging to it, but other than that cannot be said without investigating closer, and i do somehow not think we have the time for that."

Frali:
Frali walked off deeper into the ruins. He was too much dwarf not to be fascinated by old buildings or any construction made of rock -stone is rock in the furthest sense afer all. The young dwarf searched for remnants of walls or other buildings , for hints that might tell him of the purpose for this settlement or whatever it was. Or, of course, traces of more recent visitors, something that might be useful. Frali was just digging in an interesting looking pile that possibly might be hiding somw construcion work when he heard a sharp whistle from the edge of the ruins. Disappointed he looked around for a last timee and made his way back to Auros.

Frali:
"If .. If .. If I don't go we never find out anything. And i'll be careful, Master Elf - do not fret. If I smell danger I shall return immediately." With this assurance the young dwarf climbed down the hole.
Even Frali had to walk a bit ducked as he followed a short tunnel that was blocked by what looked like a natural rockfall but he could still guess that the path continued under the rabble and would have led to some doorway maybe but it would be suicidal to try and dig the rocks away. The tunnel walls didn't seem that stable to him and there was not enough airflow to allow safe digging. Carefully he retuned to the entrance and climbed up to the Elves.
"Nothing much to see down there. It is safe to assume though that the tunnel wasn't dug by Orcs or Humans .. goblins maybe. But there is a rockslide not quite 100 meters in and there is neither air nor room enough to dig any further."

Frali:
Frali jumped off the horse .. how glad he was to be on the firm ground again. Curiosly he followed Fainan and stood with the Elves in front of the hole. "Orcs in that small hole? I know they can duck quite low but it seems a bit tight for them and their armor." He looked down on himself quite satisfied. His dwarven armor was made from the light arrow prove metal that was forged at the lonely mountain and while it was quite long for his sturdy body it was not bulky, and he wore light mail leggings over his leather trousers and plated leather boots. "Let me try and find out what this hole is for." He nodded. "That's what i am here for, isn't it?" He looked pleadingly at the Elves.

Frali:
Frali slid from Hithceleb behind Fainan as Auros dismounted, his hand on his sword as well. While the Noldo looked around the campsite he kept his eyes on the mainroad . Never take your eyes from your back .. you never know what comes from there as he had learned so painfully many years ago.

Frali: Frali listened to both Elrond's and Auros' words , but it took him only a short time to answer. "I found this sword, Master Elrond and consider it my duty to see to its disposal, if that is what we are supposed to be doing. I didn't repair my armor and weapons only that they collect dust in Rivendell's wonderful armory although they certainly would be a worthwhile addition. They are quality work from the Lonely Mountain, Master Elrond." Then he turned to Auros: "I also spent time training my swordsman ship. You can ask Gloin whether my skills improved. So if you want and consider me worthy, Master Elf, you shall have my sword . and i 'd like to get a decent orc count to compare with Gimli when we meet the next time. " He smiled briefly but nodded seriously and determined.

My suggestions would be:
- The friendship between Rohan and Gondor - Background knowledge to the lesser known people that are mentioned in the Lord of the Rings, since they mostly turn up as enemies like the Wainriders, The Woses or the Corsairs of Umbar

Rainbows that one does fancy as white clouds seem a little boring , especially as they cant be formed into rings.
