I can only assume you mean swearing as in profanity, not swearing as in an oath, as there is no real formula to swearing an oath, though the Valar are typically named, so I'll answer your question regarding the former. First, profanity or "swearing" is more indicative of Orcs than of Tolkien's Elves, so you'll find it hard to find what you'll likely consider "good swear words." Second, the Valar Guild does not advocate profanity in any of our communications, so even if they do exist, you're out of luck finding Elvish "swear words" here. I recommend going here : www.valarguild.org/guildUnder the member info section are links to our Rules and CoC pages. Take care and enjoy your stay. Eonwë

Greetings, and welcome to the Valar Guild Forums! Before going much further, I must ask you to review our Naming policy, found here valarguild.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=MGannouncements&action=display&thread=1072124138. We reserve straight out Tolkien names (such as Eonwë as opposed to Eonwë732 or EonwëKeeperoftheRing for rough examples) for full members of the Valar Guild as we take a Tolkien name upon joining, giving this person also any variants of that name. So, I must ask you to change your name. One way to do this would be to add a surname to your screen name. Since from your other posts you seem to have have the Silmarillion, I'd suggest using its list of Elvish roots to create something unique and meaningful for yourself, as unique and meaningful is the way to go :} Another option is to simply use this name you come up with instead as your screen name instead. There are other ways to change your name of course, but these two came to mind as the best. Your screen name can be changed in your profile. If you have any questions about the Naming Policy or need further help in changing your screen name ,you can e-mail me or send a PM through this board. Please do this as soon as you may. As you will notice when you read the Naming Policy, we have 2 forms of membership: Full Membership (which includes the perks of a unique Tolkien name and its variants within the Valar Guild, plus the ability to game with us in the myriad of games we play using those names, as well as Tolkien discussion, chat, Encyclopedia, and others) and Tolkien-Only Membership (which gives, as it implies, the Tolkien part only). If either of these two forms of membership interest you, I encourage you to contact myself or Varda (either one for full, Varda for Tolkien-Only). Make sure you have read our Rules and CoC pages, and I always recommend browsing as many of our other pages as you can as well. Take care. Eonwë

Hail Orston! You mean you're new on the Valar Guild Forum right, not actually a member of the Guild? There is a difference, so making sure :} As for how much MEO will cost, no one knows for sure yet, as they have not released that information. Likely it will be about $15 a month (after $50 for the initial purchace of the software), as that is the going monthly rate for most MMORPGs. You can find their site at www.meo.com. The FAQ is full of information, though it certainly doesn't tell us everything, yet :} Take care. Eonwë

Actually, the MEO forums or the General Gaming would be better. The the Guild MEO section set up right now is set only for registered members of the Board to post to, though anyone can read them. Unless he wanted to register to the board, that is.

We keep track of only Full members, and Varda keeps track of Tolkien members. Other than those, we have no official count of Guild-Friends, who are those who have not yet joined (passed our entry test) or don't intend to join, but still are polite and able to abide our Rules and CoC in our forums and gaming. Guild friends are not members of the Valar Guild, but as their name implies, are friends, usually actual friends of people in the Guild.
