Heya Valar Guild
I just wanted to let you know that I would like to be removed from the guild. I just no longer have interests in gaming or Tolkien anymore. I realized this just recently when I tried out the LoTRO beta and rejoined you in Tolkien discussions. Running around in MMO style games does not stimulate any sort of enjoyment for me, maybe I'm getting old, but these days I would rather do other things. Also, while I will always be a fan, I just dont have the enthusiasm for Tolkien literature that I once did. I suppose I have just explored his writing as far as I'm willing to go. My reading hobbies have moved beyond the fantasy genre these days, and I'm much more interested in reading history or philosophy literature. The thing that really helped me arrive to this decision was our Tolkien chat this past Sunday. I did not feel comfortable at all. I felt like I was being cornered into a mess of socratic questioning, even though I tried to explain that I did not have the vocabulary to voice my opinions properly. Also I felt I was put on the spot when asked about my interest in the guild. I think the question was appropriate, but it ultimately led me to conclude that maybe I do not have an interest in it anymore.
I think that you guys have a good thing going. I also think you guys held on to my guild name for way too long. You guys will probably see new growth in LoTRO, so I'm giving up my spot. I apologize for the negative tone of this post. I dont mean to be disruptive. I hope you guys keep going another 10 years.
take care,
