Heyas, Just connected to Valar Ventrilo, It pleases me to see Vent found way into the Guild It sure helps those of us who have troubles keychating and playing. I have used vent about 2 years for gaming in DaoC and, in the hope Vent will be used alot also outside fridays, suggest a "room" or two for groups. Grps may then have some quit space for hunting.

Well, we gave it a try this week for Guild questing, and even though I couldn't get my mic to work, I could hear everyone. I'll try to get the mic working correctly sometime this week, probably not until the end of the week though.
I am certainly greatful that Alatar sprang for it.
That said, it creates too much lag for me on my lowly 56k connection, and as I was tanking in Dire Maul, lag is a very very bad thing. I ended up having to turn it off so I could tank properly.

If you want additional rooms, you have but to ask. Generally, there are few enough Valar on it that I've thought we all would want to chat where we could hear each other.
But just tell me if you want a Quest Room, and I'll make whatever you like.

We could use a room just for the instance group, so the ones outside it can still chit-chat happily. Maybe something like WoWHunt1, WoWHunt2? That would also allow a high level and low level instance or questing group to operate at the same time, something we've done before we had Ventrilo.

Okay, next time I log in, I will make a couple more Valar rooms, people can go to whichever they wish to use. Oh and don't forget you can always back out to the lobby if you want to chat outside of a room for a minute.

Sounds good to me.
Btw, while I'm thinking about it, if you're in a parent directory/lobby (say Valar), can chat there be heard in the children channels?
Take care. Eonwë

No Eonwe, each room/directory/lobby serve as an isolated one. You have to be in the room to hear what is said.

Figured as much, but thought I'd ask anyway.
