But, if you're going to be playing Horde with them then you can't play with guild members there anyway, no?
Can just have two sets of chars just like in D2, guild and non-guild.

Menelvagor, you've said your friends are playing Horde. We are Alliance. We couldn't team up with them no matter how much we'd want to.

That is why I asked if it was possible to create both horde and alliance characters on the same server. That way it will be easier to switch to other characters at all times. I don't know yet if it will be possible to chat with people of the opposite allegiance, but will ask.

As far as I know, chatting between Alliance and Horde isn't possible. Since it's a normal server, having Alliance and Horde chars is possible.
Anyone else here? Or is everyone too busy having fun on WoW? :}
How has Stormrage been as far as population? Lothar has been at medium and my latency has been pretty good each time I've logged on, a big reason why I advocate it, besides it being called Lothar (but that's personal preference) :}
We don't need to cut ties with non-guild people we meet just because we're on a different server than they are. Just making sure everyone realizes that.
The attitude on Lothar in the Human area is pretty good as well. Buffs and healings(from Paladins) seem to be given freely, whether grouped or not. At least in the beginner areas. Don't know how it is once I start taking my quests only out of Stormwind.
On a side note, saw a Paladin named Haldir the other night :}

TECHNICALLY communication between Horde and Alliance IS possible... BUT Horde characters speak different languages so all you get is jibberish Aye, buffs are VERY freely given on any server... people generally hand them out to everyone they see... There's a NE Hunter named 'Gilraen' on one of the servers... pity, would've liked to have seen MY Gilraen have the char name eventually ;Alright, I'll try and get together with someone else to make a char on Lothar(if I'm gonna make a char on non-pvp... I'm hoping to make it WITH someone lol)

Yeah, buffs seem to be given pretty freely in Durotar too. I am level 16 now with my Dwarf Hunter and people are still helping each other out. I'm also quite rich, I love the auction system ;D.
I saw a character named Hurin, and was going to talk to him but he ran off too soon.
Like Gwaihir, I don't really want to start a new character unless I start it with someone. It's much more fun (and quite a bit faster) playing with someone else. Also, because I have played 2 Dwarves (1 in Beta one now), I would like to start NE next. So if anyone wants to start a new NE character and join me in Lothar that would be great.

Actually, I believe you can chat with members of the opposing faction, but you have to learn the language. There are ways to do that, and it seems pretty useful to me.
I'm not sure what server I'll get my guild-characters... I'll leave you guys to decide, it's not like I'll be able to play until next year anyway.

I've not seen any ways to learn new languages... so... perhaps we shouldn't go on USEast... Eastern seem to be the ones with the most problems

Ah yes, forgot about that languages thing :} It would probably take reaching the frontier areas before getting a chance to learn languages from the other faction, but that's a supposition on my part.
Last Night, Grimbold and I managed to get together on Lothar for a few hours and complete a quest or two. Nice meeting up with a Guild guy :}
USEast servers: It's all those guilds trying to get together in a common place,.. can't imagine why they'd want to do that :}
Take care :} Eonwë
