I think I've got the FTP server working right, but I think the router is setup wrong. I've set the server to use passive FTP. I've also set the router to forward ports 20 and 21 to the right local IP. It connects, but hangs loading the file listing. Any ideas?

er.. I'm confused. We got this working yesterday. I even connected to your ftp server, then uploaded and downloaded a file. What changed (you sure UDP is still set, as well)?

You mentioned that you couldn't connect from elsewhere (school?)... are you sure the ftp client there is set correctly (i.e. with passive, as well)?

Yeah, the client's set up right. :/ I thought we had it set up too!

Well, since I could access it even from behind my firewall I can't see how it could be your server (unless something has changed on it again). Perhaps there's a firewall at school preventing you from ftping properly? Can you access any other ftp servers from it?

I thought about that too, but I can't access it from home either! Using the external IP address or the local one FarmerMaggot

But you had it working when we tested it, didn't you? If so, something must have changed on your ftp server or router since then..?

Just as a follow up, it works as long as the server and the client are set to active. No clue why passive didn't work.

No clue heh. Just telling what works, the reasons are unknown to me.
