Happy Eighth Anniversary to the Valar Guild! Congratulations to everyone for keeping us active and going for so long! Our Tolkien Encyclopedia is huge! We have an operating guild branch on WoW with more Valar in one spot than we've had since Battle.net! We have had a meeting every Sunday for the past eight years since Ulmo first suggested them!
I'm proud of us all!

Happy Anniversary! :}
I was watching to board from school all day waiting for this :} I meant to beat everyone to it last night at midnight, but forgot :}
Eight years is a long time, six of which I've had the priviledge of spending with many of you. I've learned alot in that time, and look forward to learning more. As long as we all continue to learn and grow, we'll be strong.
To many glorious years :}

Happy 8th to us! On Dec 10th I get to observe my 8th as a member of Valar. I never would have imagined this back in our Diablo days.
I have no way to prove it, but I would guess we are the longest continually playng guild of Blizzard games. Considering the Diablo; the game we were founded playing, was the most cheated at game in I-net history, that we should survive, nevermind develop as we have, defies all probability. And that is but a part of what we are.
I would like to make a special thanks to Varda at this juncture in our history. I know for fact that her efforts and leadership since she joined in December 1997 have been the most constant and relentless effort of all and probably one of the key efforts leading to what we are now, and that we still are now. Thank you!

Happy 8th anniversary to everyone!!
Coming november it will be my 6th anniversary, and I must say, a privilege to have been here amongst such fine and admirable people.
It is now also more than 2 years ago since this forum was taken into use and quite some gift it turned out to be! I am glad it was received so well and has seen some good use.
Special thanks are due of course, and these should go to people I've known, and people I haven't known. First of all to Eru for founding this guild. Then to Manwë, Melkor, and everyone else who has kept it going for all these years. Last, but not least to our more visible benefactors: Varda, Ulmo (as of late) and Eonwe. These people have been the backbone of the Valar Guild for ages, so many thanks to them!

Heya, all! My sentiment was on time but my posting is a bit tardy due to losing my password - it's been found now! Herewith my Happy Aniversary kudos:
Happy Aniversary, Valar Guild! Though 8 years is but a drop in an Elf's sea of time, it is goodly longer than other "commitments" I have heard of. May you continue hardy through many more years, growing and blooming as you go. Namarie - Elwing

Happy anniversary! Or "bonne anniversaire" in French. Yes, I just came from France... which is why I was not here last week, neither for meeting nor the actual anniversary. Looking forward to the meeting tomorrow.... are we really making it the anniversary-meeting?
Anyway... 8 years. 2 years for me, on the same day. It has been a life-changing experience for me, and I have made a good amount of friends here. Wasn't here for Diablo, but got here during the Warcraft 3-period. I'm still here, and won't be leaving you all for a long time. Over all this time, we have been a most honorable guild, have discussed the values and elements contained within Tolkien's life-works over and over again, and have gone into considerable tangents. I have gotten more here than I ever thought Tolkien would give me, and I greatly anticipate the ninth year.
Over the past year I have seen several people leave and more join. I have met some of you people in real life, I have seen friendships bloom and relationships grow. I have seen and participated in full shifts from game to game. And no matter how much changes, yet the Guild in itself will always be the same positive, polite and open-minded community. And this is what makes it as great and long-lasting as it has become. And this is what I thank you for.

Cheers to the Valar Guild! Let the next 8 years be even more wonderful than the last!
