It's been a month since this was posted, I know, but I decided this might be a useful pointer in the future, so I set it as a sticky :}
Btw Arathorn, BerenCamlost is my ICQ name, not AiM, so you may want to take that off.
Take care :} Eonwë

2009 AIM meeting info: Room: Valar Guild Meetingplace Time: Every Sunday at 5pm EST/EDT What we discuss in order, with chairing by Eonwe and/or Varda: members' news (birthdays, graduations, joining the guild, something that folks want to share with the group); Web news (what has been added by members anywhere on the Valar Guild's site, mainly referring to the Tolkien Site, comments on same; usually Tolkien Site-related links that you would like on our Links page); Gaming news (what's happening in the various gaming branches of the guild such as WoW, LotRO, EVE, or miscellaneous games; links referring to gaming news). Tolkien Discussion: free-wheeling, not always serious discussion of anything from Tolkien's books, often with digressions that could be very peculiar. (How did we get to string theory from here?) Then we go into After-meeting for free chat about anything or choosing which games to play together now. You can invite yourself by putting your name in your buddy list, clicking on it, and inviting yourself to the above room, or ask for an invitation from Eonwe Valar or VardaValar1 A list of many of our AIM names may be found on the website under Community/Membership. Meeting transcripts may be reached from our News page under Community, listed under the appropriate Sundays. Attendees are listed here also, good locations for picking up active chatter names from your buddy list. Don't have AIM? It's a free, short download from www.aim.com. Don't like to use AIM? Try one of the programs that cross between Instant Messengers such as Pidgin from www.pidgin.imArathorn no longer keeps up the AIM downloader page, unfortunately, but you can click on the names of other people in the room and add them automatically to your buddy list. Other names may be added from the Membership page, but it's a lot more work and, if they don't show up, they probably aren't regulars, but it can be worth putting them in over time as they are all good people to know.
