I was thinking about writing a story about Galdor's journey through the world of Diablo LOd. The story will start in Middle Earth after Galdor returns to the Grey Havens after attending the council of Elrond. I have not decided on exactly how he will get from Middle Earth to the world of Sanctuary.
The events that take place in this tale will be taken from whatever happens in game. To make the tale a little less complex, it will follow Galdor-V the account and not so much a specific character type in D2x. the tale will be an account quest by quest, and will not include multiple finishings of the same quest in different games. whichever charater completes the next quest or act in line will continue the tale. Any characters that ally in game will be added along with whatever part they play in game(quest by quest). Guild characters will be referred to by name, however, non-guild characters will only be mentioned by class type.
For now, the tale will only have to do with normal difficulty. If things go well it will carry on into Nightmare and possibly hell.
Any thoughts, ideas ?

Sounds interesting, but if that's the way you're going to do it, please give hints as to what kind of char it is in each part :} Doesn't have to be blatant, but might make it a bit more interesting if we don't have to guess based solely on, say, skills :}
Take care and hf :} Eonwë

Foreward :
Galdor had attended The Council of Elrond, and after haveing his questions answered regarding the ring, he returned to The Grey Havens. Galdor reported back to Cirdan on the information that he had been given at the council. Not long afterward, Galdor was given his own ship by Cirdan. Galdor sailed away from middle earth after hearing a rumor about a land called sanctuary. Galdor had also heard that others may have travelled there as well. He knew that he would have a long journey ahead of him as this so called land of sanctuary was very far away. Galdor sailed alone for what seemed like weeks.
When he had nearly ran out of supplies, he sighted a shoreline. After makeing landfall, Galdor had come to a strange land, here there were less trees than there were in his homeland. there also seemed to be an strange silence about the place. He saw a medium sized camp some distance inland and made his way to it. He had never seen people dressed so strangely, surley there were no elves here. So many humans here, he thought. It seemed as if the camp may be attacked at any moment.
Galdor entered the camp and spoke with some of the local residents. After he spoke with Akara the healer, Charsi the blacksmith and Warriv, he learned that the place he was in was called the Rogue Encampment. He also learned of the terror that the demon Andariel and her corrupted rogues were causing in the area. A call was recently put out for any adventurers to put an end to this threat. Planning to lend a hand, Galdor needed to but some weapons and armor. Afterwards, he would set out for the Den of Evil, not far from the camp...........
Chapter one forthcomming........

Due to me having little time to work on the Galdor story above, here is another I wrote in a humorous poke at d2x :
Part one : Act one.
It's a sunny day outside as you set off on your quest to clear the Den of Evil. The weather feels like late spring or early summer. You jog around for a while and work up a light sweat as you look around for the Den. Inside the Den it is cool and damp, there is a smell of mold and rotting meat. You workup a little more of a sweat dealing with the monsters inside. Victorius, you jog back to the Rogue Encampment for a little rest.
Next you jog off to deal with Blood Raven. You notice it getting dark outside and before long, it starts to rain hard. You are soon soaked to the gills and your boots are sloshing as you run. The sound of your boots sloshing in the rain alerts any nearby monsters in the Cold Plains ... hey, they like company so they come and happily visit you. You deal with them and move on to the Burial Grounds. While the rain has now stopped, your nose is running and you have begun sneezing...so much for a sneak attack on Blood Raven!
After dealing with Raven You return to the Rogue Encampment to take a rest & have Akara fix you some hot tea and a potion to ease your apparent head cold.
The next morning, you set out to save Cain from Tristram. While jogging back and forth from The Stony Field to The Underground Passage and then to The Dark Wood and back to The Stoney Field, you seem to aquire seveal muscle aches and your feet hurt from all of the running around, not to mention the beating you received while at the Tree of Inifuss! You manage to save Cain and get back to The Rogue Encampment. However, you curce and yell at Cain for the better part of an hour because he left you in Tristram (he closed the portal on you) with several angry Skel Archers. YOu did manage to make it out of there with only a few arrows attached to your rear end!
Next, you take care of The Countess in The Forgotten Tower, another cold and damp & moldy place that does your sinuses no good at all! You are nearly burned to death running from room to room! The Countess also mumbles something about you interrupting her "bloodbath".
Finally you set off to do away with Andariel, along the wat to the Tamoe Highlands, it rains like hell, soaking you yet again! Having no time to dry off, you work your way in & eventually deal with the Smith & recover The Malus. Keeping it with you, you delve further in untill you find Andariel in her liar. After feeling like you are going to throw up (poision) you deal with her & her monster cronies. She explodes in flames and you then limp back to The Rogue Encampment.
Exausted, you drop the Malus at Charsi's feet & collapse infront of her, Cain, Akara, Gheed and the rest! What a nap you need before act two!!!
Part 2 comming soon!

Act Two.
You finally got a good nights rest after ddealing with Andariel. Too bad you had to knock Deckard Cain out because he would not shut up. You dried up your boots and other gear, and cleaned off your weapons. You get up the next morning, and prepare to hitch a ride with the Caravan as it leaves for The East.
You arrive in Lut Golein(sp?) a few days later and you can't help but notice how dry the air is compared to the Rogue encampment. It seems like the place has had very little water for many years. Another thing that catches your eye is the apparent presence of death and decay outside town...
Your first stop in town is to Fara for some seriously needed upgrades and repairs to your gear. Drognan helps you out with some potions, for a fee. As you wander around town you come near the local bar and meet Atma, who tells you about the fiend called Radament that has been causing trouble beneath the town. So much for relaxing, as you have a job to take care of now.
You head off into the sewers and notice how dry and dusty the are is, there is also a strong smell of decay. Not long after you head down into the sewers, you are waylaid by several skeleton archers. Dealing with them takes you some time and after dodging several flaming arrows, your face feels like you have a moderate sunburn. To make things worse, the zombie variants in the sewers are making you sick to your stomach with their poision fumes...lucky you have an antidote poition or three handy. You make your way down even further and find the waypoint on the next level, using it to quickly return to town and restock supplies. You head back into the sewers and take on Radament and his cronies the battle seems to last hours, as the skeletons seem to get back up as soon as you kill the little idiots. After what seems like forever, you manage to overcome Radament, You learn some new tricks from the Book of Skill that he dropped and take a strange looking scroll to Cain.
At this point, you feel like resting a little untill the effects of the poision and the pounding headache from said poision wear off, so you decide to head back to Atma first and then you relax in Geglash's bar with a cool drink and then proceed to get a room for the night.
